basketballscotland’s Board is delighted to announce that David Fallon has been appointed as our new Chief Executive Officer. This follows a robust and competitive recruitment process for the role, which became available after Kevin Pringle stepped down following 19 years of dedicated service.
David will be joining basketballscotland from Scottish Athletics, having also previously worked with Scottish Squash. He brings to the role a passion for developing sport in Scotland. Board Members Kristine Johnson, HR Director & Vice Chair, and Jude Deacons were impressed by David’s vision for basketball, his operational and strategic leadership experience, his proven track record of developing partnerships at both local and national levels, and his passion for diversity and inclusion.
David commented: “I am absolutely delighted to be appointed to the Chief Executive Officer role at basketballscotland. Basketball is a sport that I enjoyed throughout school, and have experienced and supported in recent years as my nephews begin their journey at club level. I look forward to continuing the great work of Kevin Pringle and to working with the Board, staff, and partners to deliver on the vision, values, and strategy for basketball in Scotland.
I am excited to start in late summer, and I look forward to meeting, and working collaboratively with, those who are the foundation of the sport: our clubs, members, coaches, officials and volunteers.”
We look forward to welcoming David to the role in due course.
The appointment panel would like to thank Douglas Adams at Livingston James for his professional services during the recruitment process.
