We’re Recruiting: Strengthening Our Senior Management Team to Support the Basketball Community
Firstly, I hope this message finds you all well, and that you’re settling into the new season - there’s already been some excellent competition across the country!
It’s hard to believe it’s already been over two months since I joined basketballscotland as Chief Executive Officer. When I stepped into the role, one of my main priorities was to get out and meet as many of you as possible - to listen, learn, and see the great work happening across our basketball community.
Unfortunately, the past few months have been a period of significant change and transition for the organisation. We’ve experienced several key departures across our Board, staff and leadership teams, and much of my early focus has been on rebuilding capacity to ensure we’re in a strong position to serve our members effectively.
I know this has meant I’ve not yet been as visible as I’d have liked, and I want to thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
Despite these challenges, I’m genuinely excited about the direction we’re heading.
Today, I’m delighted to share the new Senior Management structure for basketballscotland, that will bring much-needed capacity to the organisation across the following 3 innovative and exciting roles:
- Head of Business Services
 - Head of Club and Community Development
 - Head of Performance and Pathway Development

We’re seeking three outstanding people to provide the leadership and focus needed to better support our clubs, enhance player, workforce and competition pathways, and ensure basketballscotland operates efficiently and sustainably. Most importantly, this investment in our people will allow us to put our members - and our wider basketball community - at the heart of everything we do.
As this new structure takes shape, I’m really looking forward to being more present and getting out across the country to connect with you - our clubs, players, coaches, officials, volunteers, and parents.
Thank you once again for your ongoing commitment to basketball in Scotland. With renewed capacity and a strong team in place, I’m confident we’re building a solid foundation for the next stage of our journey together.
David Fallon, Chief Executive Officer, basketballscotland
